Application of Tire Mold Silicone:

Mainly used for precision tire mold casting and precision mold manufacturing. Depending on the operation method, when using pouring mold (encapsulation mold), a hardness of 20 degrees can be selected. Specifically, the characteristics of 20-degree hardness tire mold silicone are: low viscosity, good fluidity, easy operation, easy bubble removal, excellent tensile and tear strength, and easy pouring.

Characteristics of Tire Mold Silicone:

1) Good operational performance, with properties adjustable according to customer's operation process (brushing mold, pouring mold).

2) Good fluidity, low viscosity, easy bubble removal.

3) Low shrinkage rate, condensation-type silicone can achieve a shrinkage rate of 0.2%.

4) Strong tear and tensile resistance.

5) High temperature resistance up to 200°C, and at -50°C, the tire mold silicone remains non-brittle and very soft, with excellent simulation effects.

6) No deformation, high number of mold turnovers, long service life, resistant to acids, alkalis, and aging.

Operation of Tire Mold Silicone:

1. Evenly apply a release agent to the tire model and blow dry with air. Surround the treated tire model with steel plates, which should also be treated with release agent.

2. Thoroughly mix the silicone and curing agent. Tire mold silicone appears as a flowing liquid, with Component A being silicone and Component B being the curing agent. For example: take 100g of silicone, add 2g of curing agent (Note: the silicone and curing agent must be mixed thoroughly. If not mixed evenly, the mold may have partially cured and partially uncured areas, leading to uneven drying and curing of the silicone, which can affect the service life and number of mold turnovers, and may even cause the mold to be scrapped).

3. Vacuum degassing treatment: After thoroughly mixing the silicone and curing agent, proceed to the vacuum degassing step. The vacuum time should not be too long; normally, it should not exceed ten minutes. If the vacuum time is too long, the silicone will cure immediately, causing cross-linking reactions that turn the silicone into chunks, making it impossible to brush or pour, thus wasting the silicone. In such cases, the silicone can only be discarded, and a new batch must be prepared.

3. Pour the prepared adhesive slowly from a fixed pouring point, while agitating occasionally to remove trapped air.

4. After the adhesive has fully cured in 120 minutes, mix 1000g of gypsum powder with water and pour it into the wooden frame until full (the wooden frame should be divided into two parts with plastic sheets to facilitate demolding).

5. After 20 minutes, remove the wooden strips, and the mold is completed.

Precautions for Tire Mold Silicone:

a. The amount of curing agent should be adjusted according to temperature; reduce the amount in higher temperatures. Excessive curing agent will make the mold hard and brittle; insufficient curing agent will prolong the operation time.

b. To prevent changes in the physical properties of tire mold silicone, it is recommended not to add silicone oil.

c. To ensure optimal performance of your mold, store it for at least 24 hours before use.

d. The curing speed of this product is closely related to ambient temperature; the higher the temperature, the faster the curing speed. Users can adjust the amount of curing agent according to the temperature to achieve the desired curing speed.

e. The two components of this product series should be stored sealed in a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight and rain.

f. The shelf life of this product series is twelve months; if the viscosity increases during storage, mix thoroughly before use, and its performance will remain unchanged.

g. This product series is non-hazardous; however, if the curing agent comes into contact with the skin during use, wash with an appropriate amount of detergent and water. If the curing agent splashes into the eyes, immediately rinse with clean water for at least 15 minutes and consult a doctor.

Shelf Life:

At room temperature of 25°C, unopened packaging lasts 12 months. The finished silicone mold can be stored for six months without change in performance.
